The Is Only The Beginning...
After the modeling and surfacing stage is "completed", the real nightmare begins, unless you're lucky enough to have someone do the character setup for you. Its involves adding "bones" to your character so they may be posed and/or animated. After the character is setup and posed, it may be placed in a scene and rendered as a final image. The setup and rendering stages each deserves a whole book to themselves, so I shall leave you to explore the many exciting possibilities on your own.


Don't shoot me Angelina...

An introductory text like this will never be able to cover all the basics. It's up to you to keep looking out for and trying different methods. Familiarize yourself with as many modeling/surfacing techniques as you can. Explore. Go in depth. Check out all the links in this article! You may find that some methods will better suit your needs and likings more than others. As you practise more new techniques, you skills are certain to improve.

Perhaps we will explore more in a future article. Until then, keep at it and have fun!
